Since Canada mail service resumed, the postal system has been managing a backlog of mail. At the same time, more mail is flowing through the system each day as people send mail that they had been holding on to during the work disruption. Canada Post's largest mail processing plants continue to operate at full capacity. In addition, the company is using additional staff and incurring overtime where required to help clear and process the mail. Canada Post continues to work with our largest customers to schedule and process mail as quickly and efficiently as possible. Based on Canada Post current processing plan, they are anticipating that much of the business mail backlog will be cleared in the near future. They expect that their mail processing activities as well as the overall delivery performance will begin approaching normal levels within a couple of weeks. |

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has announced its locals in Quebec City and Kitchener will begin 24-hour strikes at 11 p.m. Mail acceptance and delivery will be affected Friday in both cities and surrounding communities. The 24-hour strikes at 13 other locations that began Wednesday night are expected to end tonight and these facilities will be open for business as usual tomorrow morning. Those locations are:

Canada Post Strike Update June 9th
CUPW employees at these locations are expected to return to work on Friday, June 10th. The rotating strikes so far have reportedly had minimal impact on service; delays of 1 to 2 days can be expected depending on the destination. UPS Mail Innovations will continue to accept, process and deliver mail to Canada until further notice. |

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) began a 24-hour strike last night in Calgary and Edmonton. Mail acceptance and delivery will be affected in Alberta Wednesday. The rotating strikes in Moncton and Victoria ended last night. Mail acceptance and delivery in Moncton and Victoria and the surrounding areas resumed today with volumes expected to be lower than normal. CUPW executive, John Bail, said the union sees no need for a nation-wide strike at this point and will continue with the rotating strikes for the time being. Strike activity can affect service in a given area without advance notice; however, Canada Post is continuing to making every effort to update customers promptly. Jon Hamilton, a spokesperson for Canada Post, said the company is waiting for the union to respond to its latest offer. UPS Mail Innovations will continue to accept, process and deliver mail to Canada until further notice. |

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers locals in Moncton and Victoria are on 24-hour strikes in both cities until midnight tonight. Canada Post facilities in both cities are being picketed and mail delivery in and around each city will be affected today. The rotating strike by the union's Montreal local ended last night. Mail acceptance and delivery in Montreal and the surrounding areas is resuming today. Volumes are expected to be lower than normal. Strike activity can affect service in a given area without advance notice. Canada Post is making every effort to update customers promptly. Once again there will be no impact to USPS operations. |

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers Montreal local is on a 24-hour strike today that is expected to end at 11:30 p.m. Picket activities have begun at Canada Post's Léo-Blanchette Plant, the Bridge Street facility and a number of letter carrier depots within Montreal. Mail induction and delivery will be affected in Montreal and the surrounding areas today. The rotating strike in Hamilton ended as expected at midnight Sunday. Mail delivery in the Hamilton area will take place today; however, volumes are expected to be lower than normal. It is business as usual everywhere else in the Canada Post network. |

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has taken rotating strike action against Canada Post starting with a 24-hour walkout in Winnipeg which began last night. The union announced this morning that CUPW employees in Hamilton will be next to join the strike, walking off at 11:45pm ET Friday. Hamilton workers will be off the job for 48 hours. Yesterday Canada Post offered further compromises and improvements to the CUPW in an effort to halt the strike. Canada Post and CUPW officials are scheduled to meet today. |

On May 30th, The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) provided a 72 hour notice to Canada Post of their right to strike. This means that CUPW can possibly begin strike activity as early as Friday, June 3rd. The CUPW currently represents 50,000 Canada Post workers and this strike possible may affect service nationally. In the event of a strike, UPS Mail Innovations will continue to pickup and process your outbound mail heading to Canada, but mail delivery will be on hold until the strike is over.

| Silverado Post Office 92676 is inaccessible due to road closure/flooding. Mail is available for pick up at the Orange Post Office until 6 p.m. Trabuco Canyon Post Office 92678 is inaccessible due to road closure/flooding. Mail is available for pick up at the Rancho Santa Margarita Carrier Annex until 6 p.m. Playa Station in Laguna Beach is flooded in the retail lobby. Employees are in building and delivering PO Box mail from back door. Retail is closed. There are about 600 city deliveries (92651) in Laguna Beach canyon and downtown areas that will not be able to be attempted due to road closures. Mail will be available at South Laguna Carrier Annex in Aliso Viejo until 6 p.m. |
